Ken - Group 55 - Stencil Techniques

ree

One moment I was in the floral arrangement class, and the next, I found myself in home economics – that’s how I feel about using Altenew’s delicious cookie stencil set for this AECP level 1 course on stenciling techniques.

There were so many directions I could take with this set, and at first, I experimented with inking techniques, layering, and even playing with the stencil cut outs like puzzle pieces – but nothing really clicked. Then I remembered my stash of mediums and pastes and thought: what if I use something that mimics frosting?

This particular paper paste has a semi-translucent quality with a touch of glitter, making it look like real icing, atop the pastel cookie base. The added dimension gave the cookies that extra yummy, baked to perfection feel.

A very low-key card, but sweet and delightful in its own way.
