(Photo Fan Pop-up/Postage Pop-up)
With two new awesome new mechanisms to play with, I was eager to use them together and compliment each other on the same card. The postage pop actually presented me with two elements to play with. Of course the postage collage piece and the pull tab pop up mechanism underneath can be used separate of each other.
Like many people, I’ve been watching the postage collage trend with great interest. Many examples I saw created during Stamptember looked so cool and fun. What interested me wasn’t creating using stencils with premade designs though (cuz I suck at stenciling, it’s true…I cannot blend ink for the life of me). My idea is to use the four stamp spaces to provide four hints (like four pictures of different parts of the subject) and use that on the cover to lead to the card’s main theme inside.

With this in mind, and also with the benefit of have the Photo Fan Pop inside to provide me with six spokes, I started brainstorming a theme. The ideas came quickly because my subject for this series (lol, I’m planning an entire collection with this theme because I think it works so well, you will see the two I have completed today) contains enough elements - either characters, parts, icons etc…for me to work with.
So the series is board games. I love board games and grew up with Parker Bros. Games. The cards in this collection will have certain elements remain the same - as mentioned, photo collage on the cover with images related to the game, and the pop up mechanism inside propping up the game board while the photo fan has related items on each of its spokes. Other elements can be tailored per the specific game.

For Clue, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, I have plenty to work with. If you’re a fan of the game I think you’ll get all the references and elements right away.
Like always, I am cramming many mechanisms into the card. I wanted the Confidential envelope to rotate and contain a small card that can be used for signing. I hope you like it and there are board game fans out there…
