(Boat Pop-up)
This was a fun card to make because it was pretty challenging. It started with me thinking of famous boats, and randomly, the Orca came to mind. So I started making the Orca…but soon realized I couldn’t make a card with just the Orca and no Jaws. It would be a horrible tease. But, of course, I had no idea how to make a shark, so it took a few days of experimenting. I enjoy making mock-up cards, and this one went through a few. But even as I felt generally satisfied and ready to make this card, I didn’t have my usual confidence that things would work out.

I procrastinated because all this effort could go bust solely based on the shark component. I worked on everything else, from stenciling and spritzing the ocean background to adjusting the details of the cover signage on the iPad. When it finally came to the shark, I spent hours figuring out the shape of the fin…anything to color blending a shark to card stock and see if it would work.

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, but I can’t look at this card objectively. I hope you guys like it.

Dies used in this card include:
- 1277 Boat Pop
- 1278 Sailboat Add-on
- 1254 Raising Platform Pop
- 1146 Mini Pops
- 1038 Tropical Scene
